Recently, our university has actively responded to the Ministry of Education’s "MOOC Going Global 2.0" initiative and aligned with the educational development needs of ASEAN nations to vigorously develop all-English courses, marking landmark progress in advancing its MOOC internationalization drive. In 2025, eight of our featured all-English MOOCs were successfully launched on Indonesia’s ICE Institute national digital education platform. Among them,Blockchain Technology and Applicationswas also introduced to Thailand’s ThaiMOOC platform, injecting fresh momentum into deeper China-ASEAN educational and cultural exchanges and boosting the university’s standing among ASEAN higher education institutions.

The successful rollout of the eight all-English MOOCs represents a key deliverable of the university’s implementation of the MOOC Going Global 2.0 strategy and a concrete example of leveraging its institutional strengths to serve national cross-border education exchanges. Developed around the university’s four core features – subtropical studies, ASEAN research, marine science and border ethnic studies, these courses span cutting-edge technologies, modern agriculture, marine science, cultural communication, finance and trade and other diverse fields. Developed by provincial and national first-class undergraduate teaching teams and core faculty members, the MOOCs integrate the university’s disciplinary and educational strengths, showcasing its research and teaching prowess while catering to ASEAN’s industrial and talent cultivation demands, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation including joint curriculum development and credit recognition with ASEAN universities.
