On February 20th, the Inaugural Ceremony of the "China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry" and the 1st China-ASEAN Seminar on the Development of Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry were held at our university. Han Linhai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Guangxi University, attended and delivered a speech. Tang Bowen, Deputy Director of the Agriculture, Forestry, Medicine and Health Education Division of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education; Yan Bingchen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Education of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Zuo Ming, Chief Agronomist of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; and Jiang Guixiong, Second-Class Inspector of the Forestry Bureau of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended and addressed the meeting respectively. Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of our university, was present, and Feng Jiaxun, Vice President, presided over the meeting.
Han Linhai stated that in recent years, Guangxi University has always kept in mind "the great affairs of the country", implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, continuously improved the talent training model and quality assurance system featuring the "simultaneous development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education", further promoted interdisciplinary integration, explored and established institutional mechanisms conducive to the growth of young teachers, implemented the "three-full education" (full-staff, whole-process, and all-round education), strengthened the construction of teachers' ethics and styles, study styles, teaching styles and school spirit, and created a sound educational environment with a strong atmosphere. He emphasized that the university will more actively promote the implementation of the alliance's goals and key tasks, build an international resource sharing platform with ASEAN characteristics, construct high-level practical education bases with tropical and subtropical features, and go all out to promote the effective implementation of the alliance's work; continuously improve the alliance's communication and resource information sharing mechanisms, and strive to achieve talent exchange, platform mutual use and resource flow; continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in science, industry and education, promote the launch of joint research projects, and facilitate efficient docking of supply and demand in industry and education, as well as the sharing and transformation of academic achievements.
Tang Bowen said that the higher agriculture and forestry education sector has adhered to the guidance of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply letters and has continuously accelerated the construction of new agricultural sciences with remarkable results. He emphasized that in accelerating the construction of New Agricultural Sciences 2.0, we must unswervingly use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to cultivate people with ideals and convictions; accelerate the training of top-notch innovative talents in agriculture and forestry, and promote the transformation from focusing on knowledge learning to emphasizing ability enhancement and innovation; strongly support the independent and self-reliant development of high-level agricultural science and technology, and translate more agricultural scientific and technological achievements into practical productive forces; build a high-quality and professional teaching team, and integrate teachers' ethics and styles and the spirit of educators into the entire process of teacher training; accelerate the foreign exchange and cooperation in agriculture and forestry education, and build a brand of agriculture and forestry education for international students in China.
Yan Bingchen pointed out that the agriculture and forestry industry is an advantageous industry in the region and an important part of foreign trade cooperation between the region and ASEAN. The establishment of the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry marks the birth of a new platform for China and ASEAN in the field of agriculture and forestry education, which not only cultivates high-level agriculture and forestry talents for the region but also contributes Chinese wisdom to the development of the agriculture and forestry industry in ASEAN countries. He hoped that the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry will give full play to its functions to serve the construction of a closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future; focus on the integration of industry and education to cultivate outstanding agriculture and forestry talents in the new era; and enhance service capabilities to promote the development of the China-ASEAN agriculture and forestry industry.
Zuo Ming pointed out that improving the quality, efficiency and competitiveness of modern agricultural development and accelerating the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas depend on science and technology and talents. Agriculture and forestry education undertakes the important historical mission of cultivating agricultural talents and promoting agricultural modernization. He hoped that the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry will enhance its standing and strengthen its ability to serve the overall situation; strengthen cooperation and exchanges to contribute wisdom to building a closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future; and optimize cooperation mechanisms to carry out talent training for modern agriculture and help the high-quality development of higher agriculture and forestry education.
Jiang Guixiong said that the establishment of the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry has built a broad platform for multi-party exchanges and cooperation, and demonstrated a new image of universities, enterprises and other parties working together to discuss development and expand the forestry industry. He hoped that universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and other units will pool their wisdom and efforts, give full play to the bridge role of forestry education institutions in China and ASEAN countries, deepen forestry exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, expand the breadth and depth of China-ASEAN forestry cooperation, and make greater contributions to building a closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future.
At the meeting, a ceremony for issuing appointment letters to alliance members and a signing ceremony were held. Our university signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia) and Maejo University (Thailand), and an Agreement on Joint Talent Training with Southwest University to seek common cooperation and promote mutual development.In addition, the 1st Plenary Meeting of the Council of the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry was held at the meeting. Representatives of all alliance units held discussions and exchanges on issues such as the alliance's articles of association and council members.
After the meeting, the 1st Seminar on the Development of the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry was also held.It is reported that the purpose of the China-ASEAN Alliance for Integration of Agriculture and Forestry Education with Industry is to adhere to the concept of "openness, cooperation, sharing and win-win results". Centering on the Belt and Road Initiative and the initiative of building a closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future, it focuses on the development of modern agriculture and forestry industries in tropical and subtropical regions. Through all-round cooperation among agriculture and forestry-related universities in China and ASEAN, as well as between universities, agriculture and forestry scientific research institutes, and enterprises and industries, it promotes the in-depth integration and efficient sharing of agriculture and forestry education and industrial resources between China and ASEAN countries, transforms high-quality resources of industries and scientific research institutes into educational resources of universities, and converts scientific research and talent resources of universities into resources for industrial innovation and development. Universities, enterprises and research institutes will work together to jointly cultivate innovative talents who understand and love agriculture in the new era, promote the educational development of all universities in the alliance, improve the quality of agriculture and forestry talent training in southwest China and ASEAN countries, enhance the level of serving the development of China-ASEAN agriculture and forestry industries, and assist in the rural revitalization of China and ASEAN countries.Responsible comrades from relevant functional departments and colleges of the university, representatives from Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia), Maejo University (Thailand), as well as 13 domestic universities, 9 scientific research institutions and 12 enterprises, totaling more than 300 people, attended the meeting.
